What do you do when the faucet doesn’t work?

The faucet in the hall bathroom finally died. It was really cool. You could turn that thing ‘round and ‘round and it would never turn off. After a week or so, it was becoming a problem, so we decided it was time for it to go. :} Mike and I decided that since we had to get new faucets, we might as well change out the countertop as well. The coating has been coming off the counter even before we moved in 4 years ago. Haha We looked at the countertops with the sink built in, but the way our vanity was set up, it would have been major moola because it would have to be custom made. Being custom made would also mean it would take longer to get completed because we would have to wait for it to be manufactured. We figured that wouldn’t work because the way Mikes’ schedule has been, we didn’t know how long he would be in town. We decided to buy a new countertop and just custom build it ourselves. Now realize when I say “we” I am really meaning Mike. Haha

Mike and Josh took off the sink/countertop in under 5 minutes. I was really impressed.

Then Mike had to custom fit the laminate countertop since it was too long and deep.

While Mike was working on the countertop, Emma and I were working on the sink. We actually attached the new faucet and hoses to the sink. Of course, Mike had to help us occasionally.

We also got some wonderful wood restoring stuff. (I know… I get technical every now and then. ) The difference is amazing. We went ahead and did all the cabinets in the bathroom.

We haven’t changed the lighting or mirror, but that is in the works. I will let you know when that happens. haha

WOW.....FANTASTIC JOB!!! I'm so impressed with your vanity/sink. Charlotte, it looks sooo nice. I'm very impressed with your project that your family took on. The choice of color for the cabinet top was right on. I also love the way the wood came back to life after the restoration stuff. It looks brand new. You and Emma make a great team (and Mike).

I still want you to measure the width of your cabinet. I will send you some pictures of different mirrors that might give you an idea of what might look good with your cabinet. Oh, the possibilities!! I'm so excited for you. I'll be calling you in a bit. Love you. :))

Charlotte,

This is absolutely awesome. I am so impressed with all of you guys.
Mike is quite the handyman isn't he? That would be so nice. Poor Tony struggles so much. He didn't have any time with any males when he was younger to show him how to do various things.

I loved the countertop color and the restoration on the cabinet was incredibly impressive. It looks so new...so updated. I am positive that you will enjoy this for a long time.

I know Dana gave you some pics for a mirror. I just wanted to let you know that Kirklands is having a BIG sale right now on frame mirrors. I don't know if they would have something that would appeal to you guys...but it's definitely worth a look. I know I used their mirrors in my bathroom.
So far so good!!!! Anyway...the mirrors are really well priced and under anything you might find at Lowes or Home Depot.

Ok...I need to get moving to Seminary!!!! It is sooooooo cold this morning. I have had to defrost my car (Yes, you read that right...DEFROST in Florida!) for the past 15 minutes due to the ice.

I sure do love and miss you!
